Walker Pass (left photo) (el. 5,250 ft / 1,600 m.) is a mountain pass by Lake Isabella in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains in California. The pass provides a route between the San Joaquin Valley on the west and the Mojave Desert on the east.

Photo above from Death Valley, California, where I am taking at walk at Badwater. Badwater, a natural spring, is unfit to drink but not poisonous. A community of small water animals and plants have adapted here. The spring lies 4 miles from the lowest point in the US (-282´).
